Material: Poplar wood
Dimensions: Height: 75cm; Length: 42cm; Width: 42cm
Technique: Handmade and assembled without nails or glue.
Details: This wooden structure resulted from my self-study on the Japanese earthquake-proof pagoda. After long hours of research, I developed floor plans and sectional drawings. Then, I used various hand tools, such as chisels, Japanese wood planes, Japanese hand saws, and wood files, to make thousands of parts out of hardwood. Every part of the construction was made on a scale of 1/20, and the joints were accurately simulated. The structure withstands the Earth's gravity and complex joinery designs; nails and glue were not utilized.
